Ch\u00f6 Ichigo Guimanimo Kuingobo, also known by his Spanish name, Feliciano Santos, is a distinguished Ng\u00e4be activist and advocate for Indigenous rights. He is the founder and coordinator of the Movement for the Defense of the Territories and Ecosystems of Bocas del Toro (MODETEAB). From a young age, Ch\u00f6 has been actively involved in the traditional congress of the Ng\u00e4be people, collaborating closely with their highest leader, Cacique M\u00f3nico Cruz. Recognizing the vulnerabilities faced by his community, he organized several collectives that eventually led to the creation of MODETEAB. This organization aims to amplify Indigenous voices calling for the respect of their territories and way of life. He frequently works with international partners, having petitioned the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (CIDH) and presented evidence in Washington, D.C. Recently, he founded the Ng\u00e4be Coalition for Food Sovereignty (CONSA).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Subcoordinadora<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Malan Tr\u00f6, tambi\u00e9n conocida como Olinda Castrell\u00f3n S\u00e1nchez, se desempe\u00f1a como subcoordinadora de MODETEAB. Su camino en el activismo comenz\u00f3 cuando se sinti\u00f3 impulsada a defender a su comunidad Ng\u00e4be en Valle del Agua tras un intento de desalojo ilegal y violento por parte de las autoridades paname\u00f1as. Hoy en d\u00eda, se dedica a empoderar a las mujeres ind\u00edgenas, que a menudo se encuentran en la primera l\u00ednea de los conflictos por tierras y violaciones de derechos, particularmente aquellos que surgen de proyectos de desarrollo no solicitados y patrocinados por el estado. A trav\u00e9s de talleres comunitarios sobre derechos humanos y medio ambiente, Olinda busca apoyar a los m\u00e1s vulnerables en la provincia de Bocas del Toro y fomentar la defensa continua de la cultura y el territorio Ng\u00e4be.
